Davor Vrankic: “Go to Sleep, You’re Too Big for a Lullaby”

Rolling the Fabric of Fetal Form: The Appetition of the Sensible

This body of drawings pays homage to the primacy of matter over form, to the pleasures of the tactile and to the value of material in movement. Matter displays itself as raw and undulant, prior to becoming discernable for. These are images of matter in an original state of organic growth. Vrankic renders with precision the natural movement of living matter as substance languidly lulled into being, with its crinkling and creasing patterns of vegetal pleats defying definition.
