You gotta love the Swiss.  This biodegradable art mural is the largest painting on grass, ever.  The reclining shepherd smoking a pipe was created using nothing but water, flour, linseed oil and pigment — all natural products intended to fade and wash away as the grass grows and rain falls.  Is it urban graffiti or public art or something else entirely?

The 27-year old French artist known as Saype had to overcome storms and burrowing moles to turn a hectare of Swiss hillside into a trending art and agricultural wonder. Altitude and the sheer scale of the project were also challenges for the artist.  The work is just shy of the current Guiness Book world record holder for the largest artwork.

“I painted an immense man. But he is nothing compared to the immensity of nature. That’s what I wanted to reflect on,” he said.
