When you want carved salt water crocodile teeth, you have to use hardwood. Chainsaw wood carver Rob Bast doesn’t quite know how he ended up making his living from what he loves doing.
“Then in 2003 I saw some guys doing carving at a field day and thought to myself that ‘I want to try that’, and they gave me some hints and tips and I started having a go myself,” the laidback Rob said.
With a couple of distinctly Australian Territory flavored crocodile carvings, he has taken out second place at Chetwynd International Chainsaw Carving Competition in BC Canada and fourth place at the Husky Cup in Germany.
