Jan Brueghel the Elder River Landscape with Bathers ca. 1595–1600, Oil on copper Private Collection, Switzerland Inheriting his father Pieter the Elder’s fascination with nature, Jan the Elder produced many landscape masterpieces. Even the bathers’ water reflections are minutely rendered in this painting, which clearly demonstrates the delicacy of Jan the Elder’s brushwork. Hover the pointer over this work.
