Sources - If you live near a LARGE Hobby Lobby / Ben Franklin type of store, you will have a better chance of finding what you are looking for as opposed an Office Supply Store, whose favorite remark is “Special Order”.The Smart decision is to find what you are looking for in a Hobby Lobby, buy some Basic items, and then order in bulk from Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & moreThe Art of Calligraphy - I love writing on BLANK Thank You, Birthday and celebration cards, and have a collection of writing instruments … and have given to friends and family that still practice “Cursive” writing … I also use the Wax & Seal on some Special documents … Using Parchment Paper (Amazon) and it’s worth it … People love to collect these types of documents too.
Thank You for the Q2AJanine Polman, works at PostNLAnswered 157w agoThat partially depends on how much you want to layer and blend. Using special marker paper (thin, smooth, and has a coating on the back) insures that the ink will not bleed through the paper, and thus save ink and extend marker life. But layering more than 3 colors can make the work look flat, and less vibrant. If you want to blend a lot, I'd go for a thicker, but smooth paper, like bristol.
The colors look more vibrant and layering is no problem. Markers will deplete faster, though.I generally use a marker pad for faster sketches and work out a finished piece on Bristol paper. But everyone will have their own preferences, so you might want to test a varieties of paper yourself ;)Your response is private. Is this answer still relevant and up to date?YesNoTeri Johnson, works at Personal Best PartnersAnswered 55w agoYou want something heavy and smooth, with no tooth.
I like Lanaquarelle’s hot pressed watercolor paper in 80 lb weight at a minimum. Your markers won’t penetrate and you can get a nice smooth line. Bienfang also makes some nice heavy papers in a tear-off pad that work well with markers.Lach MacDonald, Free ThinkerAnswered 55w agoBond Paper. You need something absorbent to allow the colourless blenders to, well, blend. But watercolour paper is a bit expensive for concepts and not necessary.
Bond paper is also slightly transparent which is useful for tracing sketches.Buy it in a big pad and go hog wild.Lutain Crosswings, Full Time Artist for Commission at Damfino Productions (2014-present)Answered 43w agoGet a big pad of this no bleed paper called Rendr. It is the ultimate no bleed paper. It's expensive but worth it. But if you don't want to break the bank, try Canson XL Mixed Media.
It's 98 LBs and has a blue cover. I use it for everything and it works great.Faridah Maria, figurative painterAnswered 152w agoI always use a marker pad. I like the fact that the ink doesn't bleed through.
