Our Mission Style Lighting Quality & Construction Construction:We build our Arts and Crafts Lighting in the tradition of the old world artisan with care and attention to detail. Great patience and extreme care go into the making of each lamp; even the finest details are perfected. Each piece of handmade Lighting is an individual and unique item, unparalleled to any other and will add everlasting elegance and beauty to your home.
Glass Shade: The beauty in the Craftsman Style Lighting is the USA hand rolled stain glass. Our artisans use a traditional stain glass process of carefully cutting and measuring each piece of glass by hand, each piece is then copper foiled around the edges. This copper foil will allow us to join all the copper foiled glass with a hand melted solder and assemble the glass shade. Each shade will have anywhere from 4 to 80+ pieces of glass.
This part of the building process is very time consuming and must be done with perfection to create a high quality finished product. Wood Frames: All of our wood frames are individually hand built. Our wood is hand selected then cut, joined and sanded with great attention to detail for a beautiful finished look. We inventory Oak and Cherry but will sometimes use other woods for custom jobs. Staining: The real secret to our beautiful oak light fixtures is our proprietary 8-step hand rubbed finish and sanding process.
We use two types of stains to color the wood, a water stain and an oil stain. For sealing and protecting the wood, we use tung oil finish and a thin coat of wax is applied to create a beautiful satin shine. Vision: To build elegant everlasting high quality Arts and Crafts lighting to last for generations. Design: All of our light fixtures are original Mission Studio designs inspired from the early 1900’s architecture and design.
We use high quality raw material reminiscent of the period to build your pieces.
