The Adler Graduate School offers a Master of Arts Degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy with an emphasis in Art Therapy (integrated with the Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy track).
The Art Therapy emphasis includes a 700-hour supervised field experience. This 69-75-credit program requires successful completion of a combination of required and elective courses and completion of a Master’s Project. Coursework will utilize experiential and didactic methods of teaching to educate students and assess their skills, knowledge and competency in the essentials of art therapy history, theory, techniques, and assessment.
Students will learn methods applicable for individuals, families and groups within a variety of therapeutic settings. Throughout the program, emphasis will be placed on personal and professional identity and the balance between artist and art therapist.
